Promissory note: if u take a loan then u have to make a document in which u say that u will repay that amount in a given time of period...in general u make a promise to urself for paying that loan...ex: our currncy nte "i promise to pay the bearer the sum of....." ab agr aap chahte ho ki aap ki jagah aap ka paisa koi aur collect kar le to bas simple h us promissory note ko kisi 3rd person ke naam par transfer kar do....

Bill of exchange: if u have given a loan of 100 rs to A....but after sometime u needed money and u also take a loan of 100 rs frm B den u have a power to mak a document in which u direct A to pay 100 rs directly to B....

SHCIL is to merge with IDBI Bank

SHCIL-IDBI Bank merger – SHCIL is to merge with IDBI Bank.

Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd (SHCIL), a well known broking and custodial services outfit, is to merge with Mumbai-based public sector lender IDBI Bank, giving 227 offices and access to 800,000 high net worth customers to the IDBI Bank. It will be a non-cash share swap deal.

The swap ratio is yet to be fixed and the merger is subject to approval from the Mumbai high court, beside regulatory agencies and shareholders.

Nobel Prizes-The Nobel prizes lore awarded each year under the will of Alfred Nobel, Swedish chemist, engineer and inventor of dynamite, who died in 1896. Magsaysay Awards-This award was instituted in memory of the Philippines President Ramon Magsaysay who died in an air crash in 1957. The award carries a gold medal, $ 50,000 and a certificate a and is awarded for the following five services : (i) Government service; (ii ) Public service; (iii) Community Leadership; (iv) Journalism, Literature and Communicative Arts; (v) International Understanding. The awards have been given from 1958 onwards.

Kalinga Prize- This award is presented each year by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to a person with a distinguished career of service in the interpretation of science and research to the public.The prize was instituted by Biju Patnaik, industrialist and politician who is the founder and Chairman of the Kalinga Foundation Trust in the State of Orissa. UNESCO awarded the prize for the first time in 1952.
